Context
A project currently being completed for the OUP Learning Link platform
Overview
The OUP Learning Link platform contains a wide range of educational tools, activity types, and interactive content, resulting in inconsistencies across user interfaces and accessibility behavior. To address this, a platform-wide UI modernization initiative was developed to standardize shared components, improve usability, and establish scalable design and accessibility guidelines across the system.
This work included the development of reusable UI patterns, updated interaction behaviors, accessibility improvements aligned with WCAG 2.2 standards, and extensive testing across keyboard and screen-reader workflows.
Scoring Component
Standardized grading and feedback patterns across multiple activity types to improve usability, reduce interface inconsistency, and create a more predictable user experience.
Button System Standardization
Developed a standardized button system defining hierarchy, interaction states, and usage guidelines for primary, secondary, and contextual actions across the platform. The system improved visual consistency and clarified user actions across diverse activity types and workflows.
Accessibility Improvements
Implemented platform-wide accessibility enhancements including keyboard navigation support, screen-reader optimization, semantic interaction patterns, and instructional guidance for interactive activity types. Conducted comprehensive accessibility reviews and testing workflows aligned with WCAG 2.2 standards to improve usability across educational experiences.
